Sailing home after retiring from the R2Ak

Our main halyard broke shortly after sailing through Seymour Narrows. That was the end of the race for us so we turned round and sailed back under headsails alone to Saturna Island, over 120 miles to the south. Off Comox we met Team Freeburd heading north If only the race itself had been as fast (over 15 knots) dry and fun!
