RSHYR 2023 | 2 Hander & Cruiser Divisions Start

In case you missed it. For the majority of the smaller racing yachts and cruisers in the 2023 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, conditions at the start and the end of the race could not have been in sharper contrast. And while the largest yachts enjoyed a sprint in a benign if tricky weather pattern, the majority had to complete a marathon in everything from erratic thunderstorms and Swiss-cheese-style holes in the breeze to gale-force winds and mountainous seas. So, here’s to the marathon competitors – or at least those that a thunderstorm-shortened flight allowed us to cover at the start.
