Removing Our Own Masts | ep. 111

How do you take down your own sailboat mast? Hire a crane, grab some experienced friend in the boatyard, and be very careful! The main mast has been leaking badly, the wires are corroded, and the rigging needs to be replaced. Seems like taking the masts down is the right decision to deal with all of these problems on our sailboat. After helping several other boats with their masts Todd decides that it's our turn to remove our masts. We hire a crane and round up some friends and tackle this project by ourselves. We're so grateful for all the help we received from other sailors we've met in the boatyard.
