Pure Sailing #3 | Perfect Conditions | Onboard Upwind | Part 1

Lake Garda is one of the best sailing locations in the world. What makes that venue so great for sailing is the thermic wind. Especially on sunny summer days you can start your day sailing with the north wind called "vento". This wind usually dies at around 11 o'clock, leaving you enough time for a quick pasta party at the club. On the afternoon the wind changes direction and starts again, then called "ora" and this are by far the best sailing conditions you can think of. But before you can start your training you have to make your way through, what I call, layers of skill. First you have the novice windsurfers in the bay of torbole. Then you have the, last week I went to surf school group or pros who want to impress girls at the beach. The next group are good windsurfers and groups of regatta sailors followed by some kite surfers. To be honest sometimes it's a bit crowded. Not to say you can walk across the lake without getting your feet wet. But after all this effort there is enough room for us foiling sailors because we are quick enough to make our way half way up to Malcesine in the blink of an eye.
