Porsche 356 Tune-up Part2 Electrical Tune-up! Points, Plugs, Timing

Hi All! This is the second of a three-part series on how to perform a Tune Up on your Porsche 356. The Tune sequence is Valves, then electrical and timing, and then carburetor tuning. In this video, we do the electrical bits: Distributor, Plugs, and Timing. It is a straight forward process, but can be a bit fiddly. I’ll run you through everything you’ll need to get through it pretty quickly. After this video, Part 3 will be the carburetor tuning. Our car is a 1958 Porsche 356A T2 Normal Cabriolet, but this general method can be used on 356s and air cooled VWs. Tools: • Feeler gauge: .016 • 13mm and 10mm box wrench • Stubby screwdriver • 7mm Wrench, • New Points: 616-602-226-03 • Distributor Grease (Bosch 5700 002 00) • Spark Plug wrench with universal joint built in. • Anti-Seize • Timing light/Volt-Ohm meter/Continuality Tester We hope you enjoyed the video.
