Panama canal, 1 week prep & 2 day transit, Vlog 67

Passing between two major continents from the Atlantic to the Pacific ocean is an iconic experience. It's hard to believe the engineering feat that is the Panama canal is now over 100 years old and still in perfect working order, the amount of marine traffic passing through here is astounding. We used an agent to facilitate our experience here and I've got to say I'm so glad we did, it just made everything very relaxed and easy, these guys are pros and the benefit of having a canal advisor aboard is great also. Enjoy journeying with us through the canal! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
