From careful route planning to dodging humpback whales in Hervey Bay, this passage demanded patience, preparation, and constant awareness. In this video, we share how we chose our route south from Bundaberg, why depth matters so much through the Straits, and how tools like Queenslandโs Beacon to Beacon Guide helped us navigate safely. Itโs a fascinating stretch of water โ beautiful, challenging, and unlike anywhere else weโve sailed. After wrapping up this final passage aboard Te Tฤiko, we return to New Zealand for a while โ still travelling, still exploring, and still sharing our life by land and sea. The pace changes, the terrain shifts, but the sense of movement and discovery stays the same. As always, thanks for watching. Sincere thanks to Charlotte Rockstar Jones for composing and recording Te Tฤiko's theme song.
