Ellie Aldridge thought she might have a shot at beating France's reigning World Champion, Lauriane Nolot, if she got everything right on the day. The British rider made a late, brave gamble to change down to a 15 sqm kite rather than the bigger horsepower of the 21 sqm. It proved to be a winning move for Ellie who has bagged Britain's only gold from the sailing at Paris 2024.
