Norwegian girl sails solo across the Atlantic - day 16

Last night was rough. No sleep at all. The wind completely died, and the boat was just left rolling in the leftover waves. Being thrown around without really moving anywhere. One of those nights where you try to rest, but your body never quite relaxes. But sometime this morning things started to change. I finally moved past the wind shadow of the Cape Verde Islands, and the wind came back. With it, something else came back too, my rhythm. I did a workout, and it honestly felt like pressing reset on the whole day. Suddenly the boat was moving again. The sails filled. Everything felt a bit more alive. The workout gave me that small boost I needed. A fresh start not just to the day, but almost to the trip itself. Now that I’m properly heading west, it feels like the real task is settling into life out here. Building a routine. Figuring out the small habits that make the days flow. Food, sleep, workouts, sail checks, small jobs on the boat.
