After 20 days at sea, Leg 4 came to an end in Auckland. “It has been really tough”, admits a very happy Xabi Fernández, the winning skipper of MAPFRE. The Spanish boat crossed the finish line first in what we could call a “Volvo Ocean 65 traffic jam”! Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing followed 4 minutes after, and Dongfeng Race Team just 4 minutes after them, all welcomed in the Kiwi night by an enthusiastic audience.
