Jib Furler repair

We have a Nemo brand jib furler on Paikea. It is the original one that came with the old mast. When we built our carbon rotating mast we retrofitted the existing stainless steel wire stays from our aluminum mast to our new rig and kept the old furler. When we went sailing recently our headstay wouldn't unfurl, it turns out that instead of ball bearings in the furler we have squashed balls. Now comes the challenge of fixing an old broken furler on the island of Antigua.
