Isolated in Paradise (Calico Skies Sailing, Ep. 55)

In this episode we experience all the best of what we consider to be ideal Bahamas cruising: Buddy boats to socialize with, friends supporting each other, and all in an incredibly beautiful and largely untouched paradise, abundant with sea life and filled with endless miles of pristine, white sand beaches. And add to that Delos's giant satellite dome for Wi-fi and what more could we ask for? 😉 When the wind dies out, a rarity this time of year in the Bahamas, we take advantage and explore an area normally off limits for anchoring. It's the epitome of off-the-beaten path and we enjoy seeing only our buddy boat (Delos) the whole time we're here. We dive some incredible reefs that are typically inaccessible due to crashing waves and are treated to the most magical dive we've had to date. Plus we catch a lobster, lion fish and grouper and enjoy the pleasure and satisfaction that comes from living off the ocean. With winds slowly increasing but not quite back to the typically prevailing winds, we meet the rest of our Covid Crew at another spot nearby and we enjoy a bon fire together. Slowing down, being close to nature and experiencing the type of peace that comes from spending time in a stunningly beautiful, unpopulated paradise.
