Indonesia - Raja Ampat - Sailing Trimaran thru the Kabui Passage

One of the most fun and dramatic things to do with a sailboat is to sail thru Kabui Passage. The Pass is a river-like waterway running between Gam Island on one side and Waigeo Island on the other. The changing tides cause currents to run thru the pass, sometimes at several knots, either west-east or east-west. We made our passage with “ Sloepmouche” our 46ft Trimaran, on a very light west-east current and had some great scenery as you’ll see from the Go Pro mounted on the mast. It’s a great way to enter Kabui Bay, as you pass by dramatic Karst rock islets with the afternoon sun at your back! Filmed in October 2014.
