The legendary "Queen of Transatlantics" is calling once again. Boris Herrmann and Team Malizia are heading back to Saint-Malo to take on the iconic Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe. In this video, Boris reflects on what makes this 3,542-nautical-mile solo crossing so extraordinary: the electrifying energy of Saint-Malo, lining up against the greatest legends in offshore sailing, and the unforgettable moments from our 2018 and 2022 campaigns. For Boris, returning to this startline means sharing the water with offshore sailing royalty, icons who have dedicated their entire lives to this race and redefining what is possible on an open ocean. It is an honour, a test of raw seamanship, and an irresistible personal challenge. Our history with the Route du Rhum runs deep: * 2018: Boris’s very first Route du Rhum aboard Malizia II, a hard-fought 5th place in the IMOCA class that cemented our team's belief and laid the foundation for our first Vendée Globe. * 2022: Taking the start just months after launching our new boat, Malizia - Seaexplorer. It was a gruelling maiden test against intense Atlantic storms to qualify the boat despite severe foil damage. Now, with thousands of ocean miles under Malizia 4’s keel, we return to the dock where it all started, ready to push performance, race alongside our heroes, and carry our message for ocean climate action across the Atlantic.
