Hurricane Idalia - Punta Gorda, Florida

on July 28-29th, Hurricane Idalia, came up the Gulf of Mexico into Western Florida. After a direct hit from Hurricane Ian last year, we were glad this one was a little north of us. We felt horrible for those in it's path, but glad we didn't take another direct hit. Punta Gorda did see more flooding with this storm than we did with Hurricane Ian. Here is a quick recap and video from around town as the storm surge was high enough to flood most of downtown in a bit of water.
