How to fit a new under deck bilge pump to a Drascombe Lugger

I know, I know! It seems every other video i've been going on about my "bilge pump", well this video is the video that ends them all as we spend the whole morning fitting a new one to Lulu. Seriously though, we couldn't go on any more without a bilge pump. The Drascombe Lugger needs one as she doesn't self drain so it was important to get one fitted ASAP. I decided to not replace the small "Chimp" pump that the boat originally had fitted (See my other videos for plenty on that, including removal!). I not only found that pump hard to operate, usually taking some skin from my fingers as I used it, but it was in the wrong place and I also wanted a bigger pump that could help better in the sea. This video takes you through step by step how I fitted my new Bilge pump to Lulu. I hope it helps other Drascombe owners. Oh the pump I used was the Whale Pump Compaq 50, under deck flush fitting pump. It's awesome. Parts I bought the pump from Marine super store as it was about £40 cheaper. I would recommend having a look about for Whale products as the oprice fluctuates wildly https://www.marinesuperstore.com/marine-pumps/bilge/whale-compac-50-pump The rest I got from the from Force4Chandlery: 830134 - Reinforced Clear Water Hose 1" 830845-9770 - Composite Skin Fitting with Hose Tail BSP 1" XMYTR574 - Stainless Steel Hose Clip Sz25 17-25mm 00:00 Intro 02:02 All the parts needed 05:24 Cutting holes for pipe 09:41 Routing the pipe 14:48 Checking the Seacock and pump positions on another boat 13:54 Positioning the pump 17:18 Rotating the pump connectors 18:35 Cutting the holes for the pump and lid 21:34 Fitting the pump gasket 23:49 Screwing the pump in 25:08 Inlet tube fitted 25:44 Creating the STRUM 26:50 Fitting the outlet seacock 29:10 There's a hole in my hull!!! 30:44 Fitting the exhaust tube 32:01 Fitting the handle 32:34 Testing the bilge pump! 33:27 Tweaking the STRUM! 34:14 Job done!
