We’re heading to Shelter Bay marina just about 10 miles away to get measured for the Panama Canal transit. First we have to make it out of the river’s tricky mouth bordered by reef where many vessels run aground. The timing of our arrival at Shelter Bay couldn’t be worse as they have an influx of sailors from the World ARC so the marina isn’t sure they’ll have space for us.
