This week we see some tremendous progress on the fiberglass work on the roof of the coach house. While we had a couple of layers covering it quickly, the work needed to finish up. For 4 days the yard workers sanded, faired, sanded, faired, sanded primed, faired and sanded again. The results are a really good looking surface that is getting very close to getting painted. We also clean up the mizzen step to prepare for the installation of the new mast and mizzen step. There was a little scare as the yard was not able to find the mizzen step. The good news is the aluminum part was down below in the galley and I had the wooden base in my car. I get the mast step prepared for installation in this video. With a cracked wooden hatch frame, I also show how to make a repair out of epoxy resin including coloring the resin with sawdust to get closer to the final color of the finished material. We hope you enjoy the video, and if so, by all means, please do share it with friends and your social media contacts. Join us on our journey as we continue to rebuild, refit and prepare our Formosa 51 Sailboat for our continued cruising journey. We have always loved the Formosa, bought one (on a bit of a whim) late in 2014, moved aboard this one right away and started to do our refit while living board. We are avid fans of Cruising Outpost and Good Ole Boat (Good Old Boat) magazines and love the ideas we get from them. See how we go about living aboard and sailing with kids (Grandkids 4 and 12 years of age). We are in the middle of a huge sailboat refit. Our Boat is designed by Bill Garden and built in Taiwan. See how to become a liveaboard whether you stay in a marina or are a cruiser. #boatlife #saillife #SVDreamchaser Subscribe !! https://www.youtube.com/c/svdreamchaser?sub_confirmation=1 Support !! http://www.patreon.com/svdreamchaser Lets Connect !! - http://www.facebook.com/svdreamchaser - http://www.twitter.com/svdreamchaser - http://svdreamchaser.tumbler.com -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "How to repair a wooden mast, boom, spar or Bulkhead (Step by Step) " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Nxr-yxUjvQ -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
