Exploring St Mary Island in Mljet National Park- Local Stories Ep 16

We explore an island within an island and get up close and personal with donkeys and monasteries in Mljet. St Mary’s Island is located inside Mljet National Park, and is well known for being the 'island within an island'. Sitting in the middle of the island is a 19th Century Benedictine Monastery, that is still accessible today! This popular island and attraction feature beautiful grounds, historic ruins, donkeys, a small local restaurant, and an abundance of myths, legends and history! To get to the island, you must flag down one of the small boats and enjoy a short boat ride to the island. The transport cost is included in the price of your National Park ticket, so you won't need to pay for this again! From the island, you are also able to snorkel, swim, and relax.
