Everything Broke at Sea… Engine, Toilet & Watermaker Failure

Crossing international waters was meant to be smooth sailing… but that’s not how boat life works. In this episode, we face complete engine failure at sea, leaving us troubleshooting fuel systems, bleeding lines, and hoping she starts again. But that was just the beginning. A few days later our toilet pump stopped working (and yes… that’s as inconvenient as it sounds). Then our watermaker failed, and with six people onboard, fresh water becomes very important, very fast. Just when we thought we were in the clear, we had to jump in and swim under the boat to fix our blocked speedometer, scraping out barnacles and cleaning the hull so we could sail smoothly again. This is the real side of sailing life , constant maintenance, problem solving, and learning as we go. It’s not always sunsets and calm seas… but we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Next up: we sail back down the coast of Thailand toward Malaysia for our big haul out.
