Episode 2

In Episode 2 of BoatTechTV we look at the Fixed Pitch Propeller. I the first episode we covered some of the basic definitions of the propeller and now we take that further explaining how the propeller actually generates lift. Using a simple example we discover that using the Bernoulli equation you can relate velocity and pressure which in turn can begin to explain how lift on an airfoil is generated. The episode closes by highlighting the similarities between aircraft wings, ships hulls and propellers, all of which rely on lift to work.
