Episode 29 - Shared Adventure on a New Seawind 1160
Watch until the end to see the latest photos of our boat, a Seawind 1260, hull SC673, “Moments in Time” under construction in Vietnam. 😊 We had hoped to charter another Seawind 1260 but it was under repairs. Not wanting to lose a sailing opportunity in the beautiful Chesapeake Bay during the autumn sailing season, we chartered a new Seawind 1160 named “Shared Adventure”. Our destination was out to the Atlantic Ocean and back again. The first day we sailed from the South River in Annapolis hoping to land at Point Lookout but had to bail into Solomons due to dying winds and setting sun. We enjoyed a peaceful anchorage for the night and woke early the next morning to chase the sunrise and head south. The second day we passed some lighthouses before making it to the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay where we anchored behind a break water of derelict concrete ships off of Kiptopeke Beach, Virginia, in Cape Charles, ending day 2 of our 5-day odyssey. We enjoyed a quiet evening and watched a strand of pearls pass overhead before hitting the bunks. Join us in the next episode as we continue our voyages on Shared Adventures. . .
