Episode 22 Diving Shipwrecks of New Caledonia Part Two
After anchoring at Amadee Lighthouse we set off to dive the 2 Shipwrecks at nearby Tabou Reef. They are both in 26 metres of water and close to each other. It was Friday when we attached the dinghy to the bouy on the surface which leads down to "Le Dieppoise" We were the only ones around and had the whole wreck to ourselves. "Le Dieppoise" was a French wooden Patrol boat P665 sunk on 12 January 1988. All the wooden hull has been worm eaten away leaving the aluminium superstructure.large schools of trevally and trigger Fish. This was in contrast to the following day, Saturday where 2 dive boats had pulled up to dive "Toho V" One of the boats was freediving. The visibility was outstanding."Toho V" was a Japanese Longliner sunk in 2000.
