East of Flores Exploratory Cruise - Whales and Walls

East of Flores, September 2013 - An exploratory trip on board the Seven Seas along the Solor-Alor islands group in the northern Savu Sea. Here a quick 5-min impression of our fantastic time including exploratory dives, brilliant reefs under active volcanoes, local hand-lining for large yellow-fin tuna and close-ups of our speciality - oceanic cetaceans - with sightings of Fraser's dolphins, Risso's dolphins, spinner and spotted dolphins, bottlenosed dolphins, melonheaded whales, pilot whales, a blue whale (!) and of course...lots of sperm whales. One of the trip's many highlight: a jaw-to-jaw underwater encounter with a massive 16m bull sperm whale whom we named Timor Tom, after a rogue sperm whale who harrassed the 19th Century Yankee whalers in this area, Moby Dick style... Special appearance by our youngest crew member... Noah, who's almost 2 years old with plenty sea-time. He already decided he will not go to back to 'school' anymore, become a speedboat driver, enjoy the catch-of-the-day and explore the oceans!
