E146 - Climbing Mount Dore, Amedee Lighthouse, And The Uninhabited Uatio Island

Emma and Kayleigh fly in to New Caledonia before we tackle the steep climb up Mount Dore for a spectacular view over Noumea and the coast. We quickly drop back into Noumea to collect Emma's lost luggage before heading into the southern lagoon stopping to snorkel the Snark Shipwreck. Stopping at Amedee Island we climb the lighthouse for an awesome view over the nearby islands and reefs, before visiting the uninhabited Uatio Island catching a nice fish on the way back. We're Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022. We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change.
