Crashed at a camel farm. Fixed on a boat. Tested on a remote island. Our DJI Air 2S came off worse in an argument with a tree at a camel farm near Brisbane. In this video, I replace its broken front left motor arm aboard our sailing boat, SV Mothership, before we finally test it in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. Darry has flown our drone from the back of moving boats, but managed to hit the only tree in the field. The crash snapped an arm and cracked the body. Time to get the tools out. Then comes fitting the replacement, wrestling with the spring-loaded hinge and soldering everything back together. All done on board, with no screws left over. Always encouraging. The test flight had to wait until we'd sailed up Australia's east coast and into Indonesia. The video finishes with the repaired drone back in the air, filming Mothership and our buddy boat anchored beside a beautiful, tree-lined island in Raja Ampat. A rather better outcome than a bag of spare parts.
