Diving Galapagos 2026

Started 2026 off with a Liveaboard diving trip to the Galapagos! We boarded the Tiburon Explorer for a week of diving at the start of January. The waters off the central islands of the Galapagos is very cold. A 7mm full wet suit in 14-15 °C or 57- 59°F waters isn't enough at times. Need gloves and a hood too. But the epic stuff (Hammerheads!) is usually spotted at Wolfe and Darwin islands, and the waters there are much warmer, still cold compared to tropical reef diving. It's mostly stationary dives, the currents are very strong, and the liveaboard gives you emergency GPS locators on your BCD for that exact reason.
