Discovering why Costeau loved the Caribbean - Vlog 61

The famous diver Jacques Costeau loved the reef on the west coast of Guadeloupe with the little Pigeon island, he recommended it be made a marine reserve as early as 1974. We sailed there to find out what all the fuss was about and enjoyed a great snorkel and dive. We also had some drama when our good friends lost their rudders (not something any yachtie want to happen)! The cute little town of Deshaies at the top of Guadeloupe was a real delight, and we had a great sail from here to the aqua blue waters of Antigua - stay tuned for some more adventures here next episode - thank you Guadeloupe you were beautiful! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
