Discover the Future of Electric Propulsion with X-Yachts X49E: A Game-Changing Hybrid-Electric Sailing Yacht from X-Yachts The X49E is a 49-foot hybrid-electric sailing yacht from Danish builder X-Yachts. It is designed to blend sustainability with high performance. This innovative vessel has twin 10kW Oceanvolt ServoProp electric pods, powered by a 28.8kWh lithium battery bank. One of its standout features is its regenerative capability—when sailing at speeds over 8 knots, the electric propulsion system can recharge up to 3.5kW per hour, potentially restoring the battery in about eight hours of sailing. The X49E can travel approximately 23 nautical miles at 5 knots on pure electric power. For extended cruising, an 11kW diesel generator is integrated into the system, ensuring flexibility and reliability. The former engine compartment has also been repurposed into a technical room, housing battery systems and controllers. The yacht is designed for long-distance cruising and competitive sailing. It seamlessly blends eco-conscious technology with high-performance capabilities.
