Coast Guard & Perfect Winter Sailing - Ep. 5 RAN Sailing

Join us as we explore The Hague a bit more and prepare for the passage to Calais, France. Outside Rotterdam the Dutch Coast Guard contact us and want to ask some questions.The day offers perfect sailing, starting with 20 knots of wind on the beam and then 15 knots of broad reaching. After a couple of hours of sleep we leave Calais and sail 22 Nm to Boulogne Sur Mer in Normandy, France. Now we have entered the English Channel! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter, January 2016, and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us.
