Catalina 42 fresh water filters Ep 5

Cakewalk has 3 fresh water tanks for a total of 115 gallons. We run all water through carbon filters which need to be changed about every 5,000 gallons. The filters we use block many organics and parasites. Originally this boat had no water filters. We installed 2 GE GXWH04F whole house water filtration systems. They were $20 ea at Home Depot. All water tanks go through these filters first so all of our faucets reap the benefit. They are installed by the water heater and there is a rather small access panel which is a tight fit. We run a 5 micron carbon filter in the first filter and a 1 micron in the second.
