BUILDING A BOAT IN MEXICO: PART 3 OF 3

In a tiny Mexican town, we work against all odds to successfully build a stitch and glue nesting dinghy, the Fishbote 11 by Bateau Boats. As novices, we learn quite a bit about resin and fiberglass as our dinghy comes together. Being in a remote location, we have to do a bit of searching for suitable materials, improvising when we can’t find what we need and struggling with a less than ideal workspace and conditions. However, in the end, it all comes together. This is the third of a three-part series. In this installment, we finally cut the boat in half, finally making it a nesting dinghy! We also get to the finishing touches of adding the gunnels and cap rail, cleats for the seat, buoyancy chamber and gel coat.
