Pirates are not the "eye patch" depicted characters we think about these days. They are real and I have actually encountered some in my Sailing Voyages. I know cruisers that had been attacked by Pirates in Venezuela. How do we protect ourselves? A family in Australia sent me a mail to try and address this matter. In this episode my friends in SA show me one of the ways you can try and protect your boat and family: a Belgian Guard dog. I almost dislocate a shoulder and had neck pain for four days after this.
