Countless faces, virgin snow, and ice all around. Northern Norway is a wild place in winter. In this vlog we explore the east face of Tindstinden. To our state of knowledge, this face hasn't been climbed in winter before. This is the story of our potential first winter ascent on this Arctic winter sailing and climbing expedition. We decide to go fast and light: We leave our bivy gear behind, and climb from the Sørvågen harbour to the summit and back in a short day in the winterly Arctic Circle. Our route starts on an obvious ramp leading into a narrow gully, where we find a rather sketchy pitch of alpine ice. In the upper part of the face, we follow an amazing system of rocky ridges and steep couloirs.
