Adulting for the WIN, Calico Skies Sailing Ep. 166

This episode opens with a dinghy ride at sunset. We are driving, then cutting the engine to float and observe the very well camouflaged coyotes on the beach. It's a peaceful evening at dusk and we are in our element enjoying nature together surrounded by stunningly beautiful red cliffs. The next day we're sailing off to our final anchorage in the Sea of Cortez, flying our Spinnakers and joined by buddy boats sv Delos and sv OneLife. We get some awesome drone footage of the fleet with our kites up before dropping the hook and heading to the beach for some late afternoon fun of the adult summer camp variety 😂. Brooke and Gary have planned some games for us - three to be exact- involving paddle boarding, hopping and limbo-ing with lots of shots taken in between. The group gets competitive as the teams move through each event, in the end there's a win for each of us. After a dip to cool off and rest Gary the Penguin hands out prizes and I'm (Grace) stoked to receive a fresh baked plate of brownies while Bill's severely dwindling beer supplies gets graciously replenished by our sweet friends. The fun doesn't stop at the beach and later that evening we're hanging out on sv One Life where we've gathered to enjoy dinner and drinks. We've decided to dress up for the special occasion since 99% of the time we spend together is spent in bathing suits or sweaty beach wear! After an amazing snorkel the following day we set off on an overnight passage headed north up the Sea of Cortez. We will always remember this last dive together as we're joined by a small school of tiny little yellow fish who follow us closely as we swim. Now, the 24 hour sail we're on will take us to our haul out spot in Penasco where we will lift Calico Skies from the water and put her on the hard for a what will become months of boat work.
