A talk about bearings and rudders

A lot of Bavarias is build with a fitted bushing which holds the rudder in place. Over time the bushing will swell and make the rudder difficult to turn. The fix for this problem is to mount some roller bearings from Jefa and the problem will be eliminated. Every year the bottom bearing must be hosed down with fresh water to remove any salt water so it can’t crystallize. And every third year the rudder must be removed and the bearrings must be cleaned with soap water and a dish brush. Rudder and bearings : https://www.jefa.com/rudder.htm
