73 - St Martin

Antigua was great. Next stop, Saint Martin. One island divided into two sides....one French (St Martin) and the other Dutch (Sint Maarten). This is a jam-packed episode. Upon arrival we clear into the French side and start our exploration, with: - a hike up Fort Louis, - meals in the town of Marigot - a Tuesday "Mardi-Gras"-style celebration in the town of Grand Case - a tour of a "super" 69-meter Motor Yacht named Sherakhan We then meet up with Kevin's old friend Leah, her husband Chris and family. They join us for a day sail, we crash their hotel for a shower, and Chris swims to the boat for our passage through the bridges into the Simpson Bay lagoon. We also spend a nice beach (and dinner) afternoon with them in Grand Case. On the boat project front we work on: - fixing the engine-stop issues that returned. - purchasing and rigging a "riding sail", also known as an "anchor sail" to reduce swinging on anchor. - installing a U-bracket to brace the anchor track against lateral strain.
