In this episode we share with you a little three hulled surprise that kept us busy in New Zealand for the summer. Our 17yr old son was given a 31ft Newick Trimaran that had been damaged by a tornado a few years ago and sat in the boatyard for over 7 years. At the tender age of 17 this was an incredible opportunity that was given to him but of course with limited experience and money, it was also very challenging for him to take on a project like this. We were happy to help him with the project, dedicating all our free time helping him with the repairs to make this project possible for him. We are very proud of how much hard work he has put in and his dedication to be working and earning money during the week to cover the cost of repairing his boat and spending every weekend working on his boat. An incredible adventure and life lesson for him! Special thanks to our friend Chris for giving him the opportunity of a lifetime! We are now 'Living the Dream' aboard our second boat, an Ocean 80, which we've rebuilt for 3.5years and launched at the end of 2018. The idea was to sail around the South Pacific looking for incredible spots to surf, kitesurf and explore! Due to the pandemic it didn't quite pan out the way we thought but we are grateful and fortunate enough to have NZ and Fiji open to us at this stage and hope the world is opening back up again soon so we can continue to explore this beautiful part of the world! Thanks for joining us on our adventure!
