Welcome aboard Escape Velocity, our 1981 Wauquiez Hood 38. She is a purpose-built Blue Water cruising sailboat designed for performance and live-aboard comfort. We take you for a tour of all the amenities, sleeping areas, living space, and discuss some of the systems and design elements of the boat. Part 2, to follow, will go more into detail on the costs involved to update the boat for our purposes, and expand upon how much value you can get for your money in an older cruising boat with some resourcefulness.
