212: The MOST UNIQUE & BEAUTIFUL HOT SPRINGS WE HAVE EXPERIENCED!

An easy and amazing day trip on the Rio Dulce is Agua Calientes, a freakishly hot waterfall that cascades into a coldwater river. Our first trip to the falls was a special one as we joined a group of cruisers to support a humanitarian project in the town of Agua Calientes. Like all Central American countries, trash dumping in the rivers and lakes is an issue. The children learned in school how important it was to keep their river clean and then they spent 5 hours picking up trash in the river. All of the participants were allowed to pick prizes, school supplies donated by the cruiser community. Without a pen and notebook, children are not allowed to attend school and these children could not afford these educational staples. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you.
