2023 | Spring Gozo Regatta Passage Race Start

The Spring Gozo Regatta fleet heading north towards Mgarr, Gozo was a wonderful sight as eighteen boats were on the starting line in Marsamxett. The fleet had a downwind with a south westerly wind blowing 14 to 18 knots. Leading the fleet outside Marsamxett was Andrew Agius Delicata’s Vivace, but was closely followed by Jonathan Gambin’s TonTon Laferla. Crossing the line first was Luis Azzopardi and Sara Baldwin’s Corona, followed by TonTon Laferla and Vivace. With ratings coming into play, the first three boats were Vivace (Andrew Agius Delicata / Matthew Gabriele) Ton Ton Laferla (Jonathan Gambin) Pep (Mark Camilleri) Race Management duties were undertaken by Martin Azzopardi, Michelle Caruana and Piero Picone at the start in Marsamxett, whilst Adrian Gauci Borda took care of finish line duties in Mgarr.
