The best amateur sailors from across the country converged on the New York Yacht Club Harbour Court in Newport, R.I., for the fifth edition of the Resolute Cup, a Corinthian championship for U.S. yacht clubs. Provided boats and sails ensure the ultimate level playing field and the competition reflected this, with the regatta in doubt until the end of the final race.
