£1 Meal!!! (Frugal Friday)

I set myself a mini challenge today in an attempt to improve (well, actually develop) some frugal skills, in order to make sure we get the most out of our sailing adventure fund. I'd never really considered how much money I used to spend on food until now, when the income is about to come to an abrupt halt! So I set a challenge originally to see if I can cook a wholesome, healthy, nutritious and delicious meal, which would actually fill me up (I love my food) for under £2, which ended up with me trying to push closer to the £1 mark!!! I would love to hear from anyone else who figured out ways to cut costs massively but without sacrificing what you love! I mean sure, I could of just bought a tin of own brand spaghetti hoops and had them on toast for about 50p, but that's a very different meal to spicy chicken with couscous cooked in chicken stock and green beans. It's trying to find that sweet spot between value and nutrition, I think.
