Il "CORSO SKIPPER 1° COMANDO" ha l'obiettivo di fornire all'allievo comandante l'esperienza e la competenza per affrontare e gestire in piena autonomia e sicurezza la navigazione da crociera. Il corso è rivolto a tutti coloro che, con una buona conoscenza  delle manovre fondamentali della barca e della navigazione, desiderano partecipare ad una full-immersion di una settimana di navigazione nel bacino di mare compreso tra Italia, Slovenjia e Croazia.  Il Corso viene organizzato per consentire all'allievo comandante di acquisire l'esperienza nella preparazione di crociere costiere in condizioni di sicurezza anche con cattivo tempo e in navigazione notturna. Il corso è particolarmente adatto per coloro che sono in procinto di iniziare il corso di patente nautica e per coloro che pur avendo superato l'esame di patente, non hanno ancora acquisito l'esperienza sufficiente per condurre in autonomia un'imbarcazione da crociera. Il programma comprende 6 giorni di navigazione durante i quali gli allievi si alterneranno al comando effettivo della barca sotto la guida dei nostri istruttori per acquisire la competenza idonea al comando.

Hello and welcome to the Sailing the East podcast. This is our podcast about sailing and cruising the east coast of the United States. In some episodes we will focus on passages and destinations, in other episodes, we will talk about boats, equipment, and techniques, and when we come across an interesting person, we will try to get them as a guest on the show. In this episode, Mike and I discuss the C&D Canal and Chesapeake City, MD. Chesapeake City is a small town on the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. The population in the 2010 census was 673. The town was originally named by Bohemian colonist Augustine Herman the Village of Bohemia — or Bohemia Manor — but the name was changed in 1839 after the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal was built in 1829. The C&D Canal, as it is known, connects the Chesapeake Bay with the Delaware Bay. It makes the trip from NYC, Boston, or Philadelphia, to Baltimore or Washington several hundred miles shorter. Chesapeake City is located about ⅓ of the way from the Chesapeake to the Delaware Bay along the canal. In Chesapeake City, there is a nice bay to anchor in. With a Marina and restaurant with docks. The anchorage will hold about 5 or 6 boats, so it is not large. It is well protected from any wakes in the canal. The town is within easy walking distance and there are several nice restaurants and shops. WIth under 1000 residents, there are no big box stores or restaurant chains. It’s all local businesses. This structure, which juts out 30 metres from the mountainside, 650 metres above the fjord, offers an unparalleled panorama. A more amazing view of the fjord, mountains and surrounding landscape is hard to imagine.

Los Tuneles in Isabella Island is a volcanic formation that extends from an active volcano into the sea. It is largely composed by volcanic ¨tunnels¨ of hard lava rock interlaced with the sea. These beautiful and strange type of formations are quite typical of volcanic areas and worth while visiting. In addition to its beauty the area boasts an incredible variety of resident birds and fish that reproduce and gear the young in this area. These we explored hiking and snorkeling and are showcased in this amazing video.
