Join us for a truly epic wreck dive in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Just South West of the St Thomas airport lies The Miss Opportunity. Intentionally sunk in 1985, this 319 foot (118 m) long, former WWII Navy Hospital Barge lies on her Starboard side in the sand at 96 feet (29.3 m). Still fully intact, the inverted rooms feel like a scene from Alice in Wonderland with ceiling light fixtures below and mounted tables as well as other seemingly oddly placed objects above. And way down the rabbit hole you will journey as the entire length of the wreck can be penetrated, stern to an exit hole in the bow (as well as offering a variety of other large window exits throughout making this a very safe wreck penetration site). At the end of her life afloat The Miss Opportunity was used as office space in Charlotte Amalie, she is now home to a wide array of marine life including the Caribbean Reef Shark and the elusive Goliath Grouper. Fun fact: The Miss Opportunity was illegally sunk full of garbage which earned the disposal captain jail time. It was supposed to be sunk in deep water off the drop off. After our last stay in Marseille, we sailed further along the southern French coast to the islands of Hyères. The island of Porquerolles is the largest and westernmost of this group of islands. It is about 7.5 kilometers long, 3 kilometers wide. The island has beautiful sheltered bays with azure blue water. Here you can see our catamaran: Porquerolles was uninhabited for centuries, a rugged nature reserve. Until in 1912 it was bought by a Belgian entrepreneur. The island was his private property from 1912 to 1935. He built roads, drainage canals and vineyards on the island. He had a school built for his workers and their families and founded a cooperative. He died on the island in 1935 and was also buried there. It remained the property of his heirs until 1971, when it was sold to the French state. It's a lovely island to cycle, walk or paddleboard on the azure water!

Sono ormai 20 anni che esiste forSailing! Che esistiamo! E che andiamo per mare assieme, che andiamo a sciare assieme e che facciamo serata, assieme! Assieme abbiamo organizzato regate, traversate, trasferimenti, corsi, scherzi, cene e gite. Abbiamo dato un senso a lunghi inverni milanesi con l’obiettivo della patente nautica da prendere entro l’estate. Abbiamo scandito il tempo con i week-end di pratica a La Spezia. Con forSailing anche chi non ci pensava affatto, ha assaggiato magie esotiche nel mezzo dell’inverno. Abbiamo riempito le notti di musica e parole... Fatto vibrare le corde di tante chitarre, alzato il volume di tante casse, e poi spento la musica e ascoltato il silenzio della notte in mezzo al mare. Abbiamo visto migliaia di stelle cadenti e parlato fino all'alba stretti in un pozzetto. Wow! Ma è molto di piú. Ci siamo stati. Nei momenti felici e in quelli tristi di chi ha condiviso il tempo con noi. Ci siamo fatti da rete, da vela, da equipaggio. Assieme abbiamo aggiustato cuori infranti in meno di una settimana sotto le stelle greche e ne abbiamo infranti altrettanti altri nel tempo che va dal check in al check out! In forSailing si sono creati e distrutti miti! Sono nati sex symbol e leggende. Abbiamo visto amicizie fortissime, importantissime e… velocissime. Più spesso in forSailing sono nati legami veri ed indissolubili che durano da 20, 10 o 3 anni. E magari sono nati in 4 giorni su una barca a caso durante un ponte del 25 aprile. In forSailing si sono create e distrutte coppie. Sono nati bambini. Si sono comprate e vendute case. In forSailing sono passati i sogni, le stelle e le miglia di tutti noi! Siamo nati come un gruppo di amici che amava andare insieme per mare, e nonostante il tempo e i cambiamenti, quello siamo rimasti, e quello saremo. Ora è il tempo di festeggiare insieme tutta questa vita, e questo mare, che abbiamo condiviso.

We make a last minute decision to climb a mountain when we couldn't hike to the castle we wanted to see. Part way up the mountain we started regretting wearing slides lol the blisters were out of this world. Near the top of the mountain we have a big cat scare.
