This video takes us back to January of 2024 and shows just a piece of what life in Georgetown on a sailboat is like. Sherine and I spent our birthdays there this year and there's many great restaurants we found worth of our celebration. We had the goal to make it down to the Ragged Islands but, unfortunately, the weather systems were frequent and not spaced out enough. We learned that there's little refuge from W and NW winds should a storm come. Furthermore, we also heard that the Ragged Islands were very crowded with too many boats jockeying for two few anchorages....maybe this years. So, we ended up spending a bunch of time in Georgetown and ultimately used it as a "jumping off" point for several of our visitors. We did find the time to take a trip to Long Island between storms and we're so glad we did. Long Island is quiet and a bit sleepy but it has a ton of stuff to do and go see. We saw the Columbus Monument, a Blue Hole and the largest sharks I've seen to date in the Bahamas. Long Island has great provisioning and, in fact, we were able to find some items there which were out of stock in Georgetown.
