Ihre „Renaissance“ ereignete sich 2004-05, als sie als Luxus-Motoryacht umgebaut wurde, mit dem Aussehen eines „Oldtimers“, nach dem Erscheinen von Luxus-Motoryachten der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Aus diesem Grund hat ihre Inneneinrichtung die Patina der Vergangenheit und die Merkmale des Jugendstils. Die gesamte Inneneinrichtung ist eine Nachbildung des späten Jugendstils, mit den ersten Anzeichen der kommenden Moderne. Es besteht aus mehreren Elementen (Säulen, Friesen, Endungen, Handläufe), die im ganzen Schiff wiederholt werden und eine erkennbare visuelle Markierung schaffen. Neben der späten Jugendstil-Innendekoration und Möbeln, verfügt das Schiff über eine große Anzahl von Kunstwerken der gleichen Epoche. Alle Etagen in den Speisesälen, dem Haupt- und anderen Salon sind mit hochwertigen und widerstandsfähigen einzigartigen Teppichen bedeckt. Alle Decken sind mit neu ausgekleidet, und mit „Alcantar“ in einem Massivholz-Gitter-Schirm bedeckt.

Durante o ano a população mundial viveu isolamento social e todos os eventos foram cancelados, inclusive as principais regatas na represa de Guarapiranga. Basicamente tivemos uma ou tra regata durante o ano e a regata de encerramento. Este video retrata alguns momentos da regata de encerramento no veleiro Bonaire que é um Ranger 22. Foi a primeira velejada do Parrudo e primeira regata do Bruno, nos divertimos muito apesar da falta de vento... I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of boat related youtube videos and got myself registered with dozen sailing forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons. Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. Because of this Corona virus situation in the world It is just being put on hold... In December 2021 we moved onboard Te Tāiko, a Chico40, and since then we have been so fortunate to explore many of New Zealand’s pest free islands and its beautiful anchorages. With our love of travel and adventure, this lifestyle has enabled us to experience so much more than we could ever have imagined. From new experiences to meeting incredible people along the way, our life has been enriched in so many ways and makes us ever so more appreciative of our environment and the footprint we leave behind. Tāiko is our floating home. She gives us the freedom to go anywhere the wind and weather allows. By living a more minimalistic and sustainable lifestyle, she has provided us with a better work/life balance and has taught us to live and be present more in the moment. Tāiko has also taught us to be more independent and less reliant on services. Some of these experiences have taken us out of our comfort zone many times but as the saying goes, ‘a comfort zone is a wonderful place but nothing grows there’. Our plan is to do blue water cruising. So, over the next year we will be completing some maintenance work on Tāiko and be getting her ready to meet New Zealand’s category 1 requirements to be able to go offshore.
