Sailing Rebecca Childress just completed a 16+ year circumnavigation on her bluewater sailboat Brick House. The first 13 years was with her husband Patrick Childress who then passed from Covid 19 in South Africa before they could finish together. She decided to finish her circumnavigation and carried on for another 3 years, nearly 7,000 miles to the Caribbean with captain Michael Hayward from South Africa, and then as captain herself, with crew from Grenada to the USA, another 2000 miles. After settling in to Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick, GA for a few months, she decided to sell her amazing bluewater sailboat. The responsibility of owning an offshore sailboat, was taking a huge toll on her health and happiness and she decided to start over in an RV. Her last SAILING video on her channel tells the story of why she decided to put up her beloved sailboat for sale, and move on to an RV to explore the USA. She will continue this channel as an RV Life channel rather than a sailing channel now. The end of an Era. The beginning of another.
