Ich baue die komplette Zahnstangen Lenkung meiner Amel Santorin 46 aus — und kämpfe dabei 4 Tage gegen eine einzige Schraube. Zahnstangen am Segelboot: Das Lenksystem, das kaputt geht bevor du's merkst — und das Steuerung und Autopilot gleichzeitig lahmlegt. Die Zähne sind direkt in die Steuerradachse eingefräst — sie treiben zwei Zahnstangen an, die über Bowdenzüge den Ruderquadranten im Achterschiff steuern. Zusätzlich sitzt ein Kettenrad auf der Achse, über das der Autopilot die Anlage antreibt. Wenn die Stangen an den immer gleichen Mittelzähnen brechen, ist beides gleichzeitig weg: Steuerung und Autopilot. Kein Backup auf See. Das wollte ich nicht erleben – also habe ich die Zahnstangen meiner Amel Santorin 46 präventiv ausgebaut und geprüft. Vier Tage hat mich dabei eine übersehene zweite Sperrschraube aufgehalten. Ich zeige den Geräusch-Check mit dem Schraubendreher als Hörgerät, den Moment wo ich kurz aufgegeben hatte, und was die Zahnstangen nach Jahren wirklich zu sagen hatten. Das Ergebnis hat mich selbst überrascht. Das Steuerrad dreht seitdem spürbar leichter. Wenn du gerne mitschraubst – abonniere den Kanal. Hier werden Weizen, Gerste und Hafer in unfassbaren Mengen angebaut. Der Großteil der jährlichen Ernte wird weltweit im Wesentlichen nach Asien, Nordafrika aber auch nach Europa exportiert. Ein logistischer Bestandteil sind riesige Siloanlagen, die entweder verteilt in den Feldern oder an wichtigen logistischen Knotenpunkten zu finden sind. Von diesen Siloanlagen starten hier in South Australia die berüchtigten Roadtrains zu den Tiefwasserhäfen in Adelaide, Port Lincoln und ganz neu in Port of Narrunga. Diese über 50m langen Lastwagen mit bis zu 5 Anhängern können, nicht abbremsen, nicht ausweichen, nicht manövrieren. In this video (Billy) dive deep into every corner of the engine room and also start to modify the sewage system and install an new Raritan Marine Elegance head for Sierra's master head project. I found some interesting things on top of the fuel tanks, review the type II MSD that is already installed onboard, and try to get the engine room a little more tidy for now. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Insgesamt sind wir aktuell 4 ½ Jahre unterwegs. Ein Abenteuer folgt dem nächsten und wir genießen jeden Tag aufs Neue. Auf der Suche nach Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit, Abenteuerlust und Naturverbundenheit segeln wir - Brigitta und Hannes - gemeinsam um die Welt. Für diese Weltumsegelung haben wir uns den Katamaran Lagoon 40 MariaNoa gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März 2021 von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind.
