Really appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon If Patreon isn't your thing, I also have a Paypal.me link: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, DJI Mavic Pro, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, DIY tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What kind of boat is that? It's a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 - What're your plans? Fix it up, run nothing but green power, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.

In charter or in private use, this rather sensible-looking trimaran, that offers incredible interior and exterior volumes, but also performance and behavior, is comparable to the best catamarans. The owner's cabin on the main deck in the nacelle offers an exclusive view of the seascape. Full article is available in Multihulls World #156 : https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/leopard-45-a-proper-owner-s-catamaran Preview of our test onboard the Leopard 45 catamaran In 2017, with their 45, Robertson and Caine offered an attractive catamaran: this model satisfies the expectations of charterers or owners who are sensitive to the concept of open spaces. During our test, we appreciated the design of the hulls and the seakindly behavior under sail. The forward cockpit, accessible from inside, has become emblematic of the Leopard range: a definite asset for hedonistic sailors - and for all a must at anchor to enjoy life on board. The forward door is also an excellent way to ventilate the saloon in the tropical sun. A successful model that’s now evolving: the all-new Lounge version with fully-equipped flybridge has great appeal! TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Robertson & Caine Length: 45’ (13.72 m) Beam: 24’2” (7.36 m) Light displacement: 32,850 lbs (14.9 t) Draft: 4’11” (1.50 m) Mainsail area: 829/817 sq ft (77/75.9 m²) Genoa: 500 sq ft (46.5 m²) Spinnaker: 1,505 sq ft (140 m²) No. of cabins: 3 or 4 + port forepeak Water: 206 US gal (780 l) Diesel: 185 US gal (700 l) Engines: 2 x 45 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! In this video we give you a tour of our home and adventure vessel Nova, a 41ft Contest :) If after watching this video you have any questions then please comment below and we will get back to you! As always thank you for joining us on our adventure :D
This Leopard 58 was ordered by an experienced yachts man, a (3) time Leopard owner. This yacht is loaded with almost every possible factory option, and has been maintained by a full time captain. No expense spared, perfect condition, ready to go, never chartered. This yacht can be an extremely comfortable live-aboard, a successful (day) charter yacht or comfortable global traveler. There is no larger fly bridge on any other catamaran in this size range, or a more "open" and well ventilated salon as on the Leopard 58. 250 hours on the engines and generator. This is one of those yachts that can truly be advertised as 'better than new'.

Full article is available in Multihulls World #155: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/swisscat-s48-a-bespoke-epoxy-catamaran Preview of our test onboard the SwissCat S48 catamaran The S48 is a blue water cruising catamaran exclusively designed and built on request for demanding owners. Built in epoxy/glass sandwich (with carbon reinforcements), very well-equipped, it is both reassuring and enjoyable to handle. Much of the pleasure experienced on board is the result of the care taken with the deck layout - quality of sail trimming maneuvers, winch size, clarity and efficiency. Managing the superb fractional rig with its magnificent carbon mast and its special boom is almost child's play! The S48 is now being built in Portugal. A new example is currently in build. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Shipyard: SwissCat Yachts Length: 15 m (49’3”) Beam: 7.56 m (24’10) Light displacement: 11 t Draft: 1.10/2.90 m (3’7”/9’6”) Mainsail area: 71.5 m² (770 sq ft) Genoa: 52 m² (560 sq ft) Gennaker: 127 m² (1,365 sq ft) Engines: 2 x 45 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Full article is available in Multihulls World #155: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/fountaine-pajot-saona-47-showing-the-future-of-the-range Preview of our test onboard the Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 catamaran Between the Elba 45 and the Saba 50, Fountaine Pajot positioned a 47-foot catamaran, the Saona 47. The silhouette is successful and the helm station as practical as it is comfortable. The 47 clearly benefits from the new standard of quality evident on board this latest generation and the creativity of Isabelle Racoupeau, in charge of interior design. The version we tried, with carbon mast, Dyneema rigging and membrane sails is particularly attractive... but even without these luxurious options, the Saona shows interesting speed potential. The seakeeping behavior felt safe: during our test, we took on a Mistral blowing at 50 knots and nothing broke! TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Fountaine Pajot Length: 45’9” (13.94 m) Beam: 25’3” (7.70 m) Light displacement: 32,407 lbs (14.7 t) Draft: 3’11” (1.20 m) Mainsail area: 829 sq ft (77 m²) Genoa: 560 sq ft (52 m²) No. of cabins: 3 or 4 Water: 185 US gal (700 l) Diesel: 2 x 124 US gal (2 x 470 l) Engines: 2 x 50/60 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Full article is available in Multihulls World #154: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/wave-58-an-epoxy-catamaran-designed-and-built-in-poland Preview of our test onboard the Wave 58 catamaran Polish boatbuilding no longer needs to prove itself, but its entry into the world of multihulls is fairly recent. We had the opportunity to discover the latest model from Wave, a 58 footer which we were able to take for a sail before her departure for the Caribbean. Wave Catamarans was set up in 2010 in Szczecin, Poland’s third-largest port, which is open to the Baltic Sea via the Oder River. Zbigniew Lodyga (head of the design team) and Bartosz Puchowski are the founders and owners. The specifications, and the philosophy, of this boat have been developed in association with Mieczyslaw Szwed, naval architect and experienced sailor. The construction has been carried out in partnership with Bartosz Puchowski and Tomasz Gackoski, composite specialists. Both of the models that they have built have been one-offs, constructed in airex/epoxy sandwich, and the yard’s aim has been to build a production model without using female moulds. The team at Wave have been asked to save half a tonne of weight on the next boat. From the sections we could see, we observed a very high standard of composite fabrication. Full article is available in Multihulls World #153: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/eos-54-radiant-dawn-in-greek-mythology-eos-is-the-goddess-of-the-dawn Preview of our test onboard the EOS 54 catamaran Christophe Barreau's mark is clearly evident on the Eos 54. This catamaran demonstrates the fundamentals dear to the Parisian architect and sailor: simplicity, taut lines, reduced nacelle size and superlative performance... The Eos is aimed at an informed audience of sailors - those who love lively wakes. But this model also knows how to be welcoming with a simple and neat interior. A multi-faceted cruising catamaran, yet one which is capable of surprising top speeds under gennaker or spinnaker in upper medium conditions. The standard model is now called the EOS 54 C, while the builder is now offering a very lightweight version, the EOS 54 R. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: EOS Catamaran Length: 54’ (16.45 m) Beam: 27’10” (8.48 m) Light displacement: 30,425 lbs / 19,180 lbs (13,800 kg/8,700 kg) Draft: 4’3” / 10’ (1.30 / 3.05 m) Mainsail area: 1,087 sq ft (101 m²) Genoa: 690 sq ft (64 m²) Engines: 2 x 55 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Le modèle standard est désormais appelé EOS 54 C par le constructeur, lequel propose également une déclinaison très allégée, l’EOS 54 R. They therefore have the great sailing performance of a 'half tonner', combined with a cleverly maximised, comfortable interior to suit the needs of a small cruising family. The boat was produced commercially by Giuseppe Loggia, who fell in love with the design and left his job in the marine services industry to produce the Half Cast 30 commercially. It was produced and sold in Italy. The Half Cast 30 is a medium displacement fibreglass constructed boat withan encapsulated keel (after being laid up as an integral part of the hull, it was then filled with lead). This makes for a solid hull and eliminates the need for keel bolts. Is this the perfect tiny home? Let us know what you think and thank you for watching! Do you have any questions?
